The NAL carries out academic information cooperation activities to collect and distribute information from government agencies, local assemblies, and nationwide universities, and research institutions.

The「Korean Association for Research Information」in collaboration with 1,621 institutions as of December 2014, is the largest library cooperation organization in Korea, and plays the pivotal role in sharing and distribution of national knowledge information resources.
